Don Sherwood: On-Message but Off-Massage
· Rep. Don Sherwood , the 64-year-old married Republican embroiled in controversy over an incident involving a 29-year-old woman in his apartment last year, has apologized to his family and supporters for causing them "pain and embarrassment." But he did not address his relationship with Cynthia Ore , who claims to have been his lover for six years. Police say Ore called 911 on Sept. 15, alleging that Sherwood began to choke her while giving her a back rub, but she quickly changed her story, saying they were only sipping tea. He denied assaulting Ore but did tell police he gave her a back rub.
In a terse statement issued Tuesday evening, Sherwood said he was "truly sorry" and would "begin the healing process" with his family. "I plan no further comment on this personal matter."

I believed President Clinton should have resigned, and I believe the same thing about Congressman Sherwood. Finally if the Congressman does not resign I would like to support a true family values Candidate in the 2006 primary."

GOP rallies, but Sherwood is vulnerable to a primary challenge

The Times Leader talks about GOP rallying around Sherwood.
"The only thing you have in life is your reputation," said Marge Matisko, an activist with the Luzerne County Republican Party. "Don Sherwood has always been very well-respected, and he always valued that. This has hurt him personally and professionally, and that's a shame."

Does Don Sherwood have to Choke a?

On Saturday the Times Leader of Wilkes-Barre reported that Congressmen Don Sherwood of the 10th district (NEPA) was accused of choking a women in D.C. It seems he did not choke her(I could not resist quoting Chapelle) why was this married 64 year old with a 29 year old. This is not illegal but Conservatives should feel outraged. Clinton was wrong for committing adultery so is Sherwood. The GOP should replace him for the next election.
